Walking the Secrets of Champagne & Paris
Travel from Paris to Champagne region, declared UNESCO world heritage, and visiting the most beautiful and historic Houses of Champagne. You will also enjoy delicious tasting along the route and great views of the mountains, and regional cuisine, while visiting local villages close to Reims and Epernay. The program includes also a private gourmet and cultural experience in Paris with a local guide.

Day 1: Paris – Reims
Meet and greet your guide at the Charles de Gaulle airport and private group transfer to the Hotel in Reims, about 1 hour drive, which is located in a charming and nice neighbourhood close to restaurants and shops – Afternoon at leisure for relaxing walk or visiting the beautiful Reims’s fruit & vegetable market – In the evening, before our welcome dinner in a historic family bistro, we will go over the trip itinerary – Overnight at La Paix Hotel Reims (D)
Day 2: Reims / Champagne & Historic Experience
In the Reims you will find France’s oldest and finest Champagne Houses. Many keep their cellars just as they were when first established in the 18th century.
Today we will are going to visit one of France’s finest and exclusive Champagne’s House. There we will visit the old cellar and a private tasting of the fantastic Ruinat Champagnes – Lunch, follow by a visit to the Notre Dame de Reims Cathedral, where 25 French Kings were crowned – After the Cathedral visit we are going to enjoy a private Champagne tasting from local family producers, included organic & biodynamic projects, and have an introduction to the Champagne wine regions, given by an expert – Dinner on your own – Overnight at La Paix Hotel Reims (B, L)
Day 3: Reims /Champagne & Women’s Experience
Today we will visits the two most important Champagne Houses in Reims funder for women’s inspiration and passion.
After breakfast, depart by walk to Pommery Champagne House, there we will visit the family museum, the artistic cellar and to enjoy a Champagne tasting – Continue to Veuve Clicquot tasting room for a glass of their best Champagne – Lunch at Le Jardin brasserie, located in Le Crayeres Relais & Chateux – Afternoon/evening at leisure for personal activities – Overnight at La Paix Hotel Reims (B, L)
Day 4: Reims – Epernay
After breakfast & check out, depart by bus to Tattinger Champagne house, we will visit the traditional cellar and enjoy a great Champagne tasting – Continue to D’ Hautvillers village for visiting L’abbaye D’ Hautvillers and Don Perignon tomb, the place is inserted in the natural surroundings with spectacular views of the vineyards and Marne Valley – Free time for lunch and to explore the village – Arrival to Eperney Village, the coeur of the Champagne vineyards – Check in at Jean Moet Hotel – Dinner at local gourmet restaurant – Overnight at Jean Moet Hotel Epernay (B, D)
Day 5: Epernay / Champagne & Relax
Today we will walk from our Hotel to one of the most famous Champagne house in France, Moet & Chandon, tour and special tasting there – After the visit, enjoy a relax walking through the Champagne Avenue until our last stop, Paul-Etienne Saint Germain house, this is a small family’s project focusing in high quality Champagnes, tasting of the best Grand Cru and Millesime available – Lunch and afternoon at leisure for discover Epernay’s secret places – Dinner at La table Kobus, a famous gourmet Bistro in town – Overnight at Jean Moet Hotel Epernay (B, D)
Day 6: Epernay – Paris
After breakfast and check out, transfer to the train station for our TGV to Paris – Transfer and check in at Louison Hotel Paris, located in the heart of the 6th arrondissement, Rive Gauche, close to the cozy boutiques and Saint Germain Des Prés attractions. The Hotel invites you to enter into the History of France. In a royal family residence, which housed the illegitimate children of Louis XIV, discover a tasteful, stylish and elegant “French-style” universe. Here, tradition meets modernity, a recipe which brings together sculpted busts, period mouldings, design furniture and graphic fabrics – Dinner at traditional gourmet restaurant near to the Hotel – Overnight at Louison Hotel Paris (B, D)
Day 7: Paris / Cultural & Gourmet Experience
After breakfast, depart by walking with our local guide. Visit the most representative places nearby; the Luxembourg Garden, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Montparnasse neighborhoods, stop for tasting a Macaron at the Pierre Hermé boutique or to enjoy a chocolate at the Deux Magots legendary café – Menu lunch at the oldest restaurant in Paris – After lunch, at leisure for personal activities, maybe for visiting a Museum or shopping in a cozy neighborhood – In the afternoon, about 6:00 pm, we will enjoy a Bateaux Mouches sunset experience with spectacular views of Paris – Dinner on your own – Overnight at the Hotel (B, L)
Day 8: Paris / End of the Tour
After breakfast and check out, day at leisure until the group transfer to Charles de Gaulle Airport (B)

- The Private Tour is available from May to October 2017/18

EXPERT GUIDE AND TRIP PLANNER
Karen Gilchrist is a graduate of the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences of the Sorbonne University in Paris and the holder of diplomas in wine tasting, tourism and marketing from the London Chamber of Commerce and the British Industry Examinations Board, accomplishments during her eight years of residence in Europe. Her experience in connection with wine routes include in USA (California, Oregon, Long Island), France (Burgundy, Champagne, Bordeaux and Loire), Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Croatia Australia, South Africa, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile.
In addition to guiding she is also a wine tourism consultant in Chile and abroad.

If you are a US or Chilean citizen, a visa is not required to enter France. Please remember to keep the tourist card that will be given to you at immigration upon arrival, you will need it to leave the country. Citizens of other countries, check with your Embassy or Consular office for further information.
